Observation
We are building machines to detect what we refuse to value.
AI writing detectors are failing at scale because we've created a detection problem instead of solving a human one. Meanwhile, the actual signal people crave—a rapper's 12th number-one album, a marriage that saved someone's life, a meal cooked only for yourself—these are the things that move culture and move people. We're spending energy on forensic analysis of text while ignoring why anyone bothered to write it in the first place.
