The Qi wireless charging standard, maintained by the Wireless Power Consortium, explicitly permits operating temperatures up to 45 degrees Celsius during charging. Phone manufacturers tuned their thermal throttling thresholds with this permission in mind—Apple, Samsung, Google all designed their devices to work within those bounds.
Heat at 40 to 45 degrees during wireless charging is not a malfunction. It's the intended operating envelope. This matters because it inverts what the cooling fan narrative implies. The narrative says a problem exists and a solution appeared—but what actually happened is that manufacturers and standards bodies explicitly permitted a condition. Now we're selling the reversal of that condition as innovation.
The cooler you wanted was the rejection itself.
In 1997, Intel released the Pentium II with a clock multiplier locked into the processor and users could not overclock. When enthusiasts later demanded unlocked processors, they weren't solving a problem Intel created—they were rejecting a boundary Intel had set. The Kuxiu D5 is the same move. It rejects a boundary the industry established, and that rejection might be entirely justified. But those justifications are not answered by whether the fan works.
If you buy the cooler, you are betting the industry's original decision was wrong. The question is whether you know why you believe that, or whether you simply heard that heat was a problem and accepted it.
Find a product you own that "solves" an accepted condition (fast-charging, standing desks, blue light filters). Write down whether the condition was actually broken or just conventionally tolerated.
