Observation
We are pricing ourselves out of the ordinary things we made ordinary, and calling it progress.
A robot vacuum that cost $1,245 will cost $1,495 in September because the materials and labor that built abundance have become expensive enough that abundance itself is becoming a luxury good. Meanwhile, we're training AI to do what humans do while humans are nostalgic for the tools that forced them to slow down, and we're watching fish lose their eyes in the dark while we're losing our ability to see what the ordinary costs.
